I read a book called *Shin Saimdang*. This is one of the books my mother and father bought for me as a Children's Day gift. The main reason I was interested in it was that my great-grandmother received the Shin Saimdang Award because she was skilled in both writing and drawing, just like Shin Saimdang. When she was young, unlike her older sisters, Shin Saimdang stayed holed up in her room, drawing and reading. One day, her father came into the room and asked her if she had chosen a pen name.

"Shin Saimdang" is a book about Shin Saimdang, the mother of Yulgok Yi I, the greatest scholar of the Joseon Dynasty. It introduces the figures and history of that era while also covering essay writing that allows children to develop their own thoughts.
