Mimaki Seiko: How should a generation that has never known war remember it?

Many East Asian countries today face what is called Asia Paradox. The Asian Paradops is a phenomenon of increasing economic interdependence between countries where conflict and distrust of one another are still present, as in history or territory issues. In regard to the issue of the historical reconciliation, the government’s decisions have been largely relied upon. But real reconciliation is possible through multi-partial work by various activists, and it is not just government or high-ranking officials, and so many of the workers in civil society should be involved in this process to help them catalyze. The work of reconciliation is essentially a mutual act between the two parties in hostile relations. But in East Asia, the discussion surrounding ‘history’ has largely developed into a ‘ fight ’ between nations. We need to start a more descriptive conversation about what we can do together to help improve the human rights of innocent victims of war. And it is young men who have to play a central role in these future-based efforts. The book shows how active participation by social activists has given new dynamics to the 'Acquirement' problem and is looking at what understanding and effort we should develop for the sake of history reconciliation.
