Michael Friedman: The breakup in Davos
The argumentary attack by the logicist Karnell, who criticized the "Witness is instigated" argument as a classic case of false philosophy, is an infamous symbol of the intellectual divisions of analytical and continental philosophies. In fact, while the philosophy of analysis can be bound together by a common ideology of the pursuit of clarity through language analysis, it is so methodically and edifyingly as to be so wrong that it is difficult to bind in one category. Because it's not a common ideology, but it'll be bound by the very point where the analytical philosophy has seen itself as an ally. Nevertheless, through the union of philosophical events and social and political conditions, these two traditions have a university where each one is located, where they refer to and study books in his tradition. And unlike the continental philosophy, the analytical philosophy clearly has a theme identity: against meta-ideology. But if you think about the distinction between analytical and continental philosophy as just a matter of choice of type and half-formism, then both philosophical traditions will be based on rejection, cynic exchange, neglect and indifference. How do we narrow the gap between them? Author Michael Freeman has suggested that the 20th century's general tradition of analytical philosophy, as opposed to the disparity, conflict and mutual neglect are refracted by lensing “a very important decisive event”. The decisive event is the debate between Ernst Kaiser and Martin Heeder of the Davos International University course.
