Description

You can easily learn the vast subject of machine learning through comics! *Machine Learning Made Easy with Comics* allows you to learn about machine learning—a field of artificial intelligence expected to have limitless potential for development—through comics, covering everything from basic knowledge to the fundamentals of deep learning. In particular, it provides an easy overview by presenting several representative examples of machine learning methods. The target audience is beginners encountering machine learning for the first time, requiring a level of mathematical knowledge equivalent to that of a college freshman. If the formulas are unfamiliar, referring to the explanations of the mathematical background at the end of each chapter will be helpful in grasping, even vaguely, the purpose for which the formulas are expressed. This book begins with a problem setting, followed by an explanation of each machine learning method as a means to solve it. The intriguing plot set in City Hall catches the eye. This book allows you to learn machine learning while enjoying a story that unfolds at City Hall, following a flow of events such as Regression (execution of events), Classification 1 (inspection), Evaluation (verification of machine learning results), Classification 2 (determining the size of agricultural products, etc.), and Unsupervised Learning (administrative services). This will be helpful for machine learning beginners, people in liberal arts SE who need machine learning programming, software engineers, software development managers, and first or second-year science undergraduates.

It is good to read this series in parallel with other introductory books. Since the field of machine learning itself requires a foundation in statistics, calculus, and linear algebra, reading straight through—even as a comic book—without that basic knowledge feels a bit overwhelming. Nevertheless, it is good for learning what machine learning is.

If you want to learn about machine learning, even a high school student can read this. However, the comic isn't very entertaining.

You shouldn't try to study using this. If you bought a book to study but feel confused—thinking, "It just looks like white paper and black text"—then read this book. I believe it provides a solid foundation. In my case, I started to understand things I couldn't grasp during seminars with the professor. I began to understand why the seminar was conducted in that particular order... Once I could see the bigger picture, I could make sense of the professor's actions. It lacks depth, but it still
