Mark Balaguerre: free will
In everyday life, our actions seem to be carried out in a moment of free will by conscious decisions that we make. We wake up on the couch, we walk, we eat chocolate ice cream, and we seem to be controlling these kinds of behaviors. If so, we have free will. But in recent years some have argued that free will is a fantasy. For example, neuroscientists and best-selling author Sam Harris and late Harvard psychologist Daniel Weggner claim that certain scientific discoveries have proved that there is no free will. The author of the book, Mark Balaguer, discusses and evaluates various arguments and experiments in neuroscience that have claimed that humans have no free will. At the end of this book we can answer the question of whether that various argument is useful.
