Marie Louise von Franz: Golden Donkey
Marie-Luza von Franz, who has been using the book to illustrate and vivid interpretations, shows that ancient Greek works of art are not only a historical lesson but, surprisingly, they are now directly related to humans living here in this century. The golden donkey is a folk novel. And like Min-Sung, people can understand it as a symbolic expression of unconscious processes. Originally the comprehensive interpretation of this was early provided by the rug man. And his unconscious psychology also provides the author with the key to interpretation. Marie-Luzai von Franz is tracking the way the hero, Lousy, has turned into a donkey and has suffered so much animal form that he's going through the process of transformation and integration. She interprets this as a process, a re-review of the principles of women that are increasingly strongly pushed into the consciousness of our patriarchy today. And the story's character is a man who has been shirked by the liberation of female sex, which has been neglected in his heart.
