Margaret McNamara et al.: Robin Hill School 4: The Pumpkin Patch
Includes: original English reader + workbook + translation + audiobook. Set in a first-grade classroom in the United States, the Robin Hill School series is a reader beloved in both the U.S. and Korea for its accessible English and lively stories. Longtail Books has adapted the original Robin Hill School books for young children through early elementary students, adding a variety of English-learning activities. The translation and workbook text were written by Ki-hong Seong, known as Hyorin Papa, a leading instructor on EBS English and an active creator in English education. His Korean translation is friendly and adapted to children’s perspective, and the workbook offers step-by-step activities children can work through on their own. The activities are especially focused on writing, with a gradual progression. Children first learn key vocabulary from the reader through different quizzes, then practice selected sentence patterns and apply them, moving on to sentence and paragraph writing. At the end of the workbook, “My Own Writing” lets children combine what they have learned to write a diary entry of their own. The book also includes a lively audiobook for listening practice. Scan the QR codes on the book jacket or inside the book to hear the entire original read by a native English-speaking voice actor.
