Linda Hartley: Introduction to Body Mind Centering
Body-indemicent Reming is one of the great approaches to Somatics as it was developed by Bainbridge Cohen. But no great approach can be confined to just one area. The area that deals with body-indiving is truly broad. As the author reveals in the introduction, body-indiming is no doubt an easy approach to Western culture. That's how much of the integration of the peer-registered discipline is involved. The techniques we've been dealing with, and therefore, can be applied to all sorts of techniques and methods that explore the relationship between the body and mind and energy. In body-indiving, each part of the body system has a special "heart" and is more likely to be“expressed” through the body. Even in each cell, or in the flow of fluids, there is a unique mind, and it claims that by training you can be used to centralize the body and the mind. Cohen describes it as “to observe the process of mind through the pattern that the wind hits the sand.”. Linda Hartley also believes that the mind is built into both body systems, so that it can be directed and controlled to bring the body and the mind to a healthy state of consciousness. And they claim that they can develop a better understanding of their body and mind in the course of their exploration of motion.
