Description

Cats have lived alongside us for as long as dogs, but unlike dogs, they are hard to read and do not seem to offer us their company as readily. That is why cat parents are always wondering what their cats are thinking. Whether you are a first-time cat parent or an experienced one who has raised several cats, meeting a new cat can feel like learning a new language all over again. Cats communicate their moods and feelings with their whole bodies. They also communicate by changing posture and through the direction and speed of their movements. But to understand what a cat is saying, we need to watch more than one thing. A cat may arch its back and puff up its tail in either of these situations: the meaning changes completely depending on whether it backs away and hisses or bounces energetically from side to side. Cats are also masters at hiding when they are sick. A cat that seemed perfectly fine may suddenly stop eating one day, and by the time it is taken to the vet, the illness may already have been progressing for a while. The loaf position and purring are well-known signs of contentment, but the shape of the whiskers or the direction of the body can indicate that the cat is actually feeling unwell. Illustrator Lili Chin, who has worked with many international organizations, created an illustrated guide to cat language for people who want to understand these very different cats more deeply. By looking at a cat's body language as a whole, including pupil size, whisker shape, and how puffed up its tail is, you can understand what cats are trying to say.

This book is full of helpful information for people getting a cat for the first time, people who already have one but still feel they do not know what is going on inside its mind, online cat parents, and people who care for strays. Best of all, it is not packed with text; illustrations and clear explanations make it easy to read. Students, young people, and older adults can all read it comfortably, so I recommend it to anyone who likes cats.

I personally like “cat books,” and I pay even more attention to books about pets, whether cats or dogs. It does not matter whether they are novels, essays, or something else; I love animals. The bestseller I Can Speak Cat, written and illustrated by Lili Chin, was just the right book for me: I love cats but do not know much about them, and I found it fun to read. These days, many people are interested in adopting dogs and cats, and many households have pets. Since I have a dog, I found this

The title caught my attention right away! I Can Speak Cat, Too! I was frustrated because I could not understand what the kitties were feeling, so I am grateful for this helpful book! The illustrations are so cute and easy to see. The information is great, too!
