Lee Seung-yun: Buddhism Rises from Seclusion to Embark on the Movement to Restore National Sovereignty
Korean Buddhism, with its pro-national tradition, has long been repressive and has experienced for a while the opportunity of a revival leading by the royal family in the modernist course of the landscape. But even this was the case in which the invasion of the country had been brought back to its own level, and with a pill to help the crisis of national loss was triggered, it had to be achieved simultaneously in the restoration of the State and the revival of the Buddhist world itself. Thus the movement for the restoration of the right to the Buddhist state was a mixture of the character called the revival movement of Buddhism. In the process, the mobilization and social growth of the monks were also achieved. The frequent growth efforts of these Buddhist communities were blocked from the process of the Korean strongness and the bid for private security. He judged Korean Buddhism as ‘ an immature state ’ and thoroughly recognized its weaknesses. The government has taken over property rights and civil rights to prevent the possibility of private power being used as a basis for independence movements or that priests might be politically empowered. This was a process that re-scrubged the Buddhist world into a friendly nature. Meanwhile, the flow of ethnic Buddhism has moved from a national tradition to a national rejuvenation movement, to an independent movement. On the one hand, the Buddhistization movement and the Ark were joined by a separate stream of ethnic Buddhism. It's still a lot of work, but I hope that this revelation will bring you closer to the nature of modern Buddhism and colonial Buddhism. (Laughter).
