Lee Sang-jun: Film and the Cultural Cold War

This is the first time that we have seen the historical, social, cultural and intellectual structure affecting post-war Pan-Asian film networks in the 20 years since the end of the Korean War in July 1953. The author estimates that the Asian film culture and film industry were formed by supranational cooperation and competition between the new independent states and colonies, and then he sees in a variety of ways that there was financial and administrative support for the American institutions. The network is claimed to have been the product of the Cold War Cultural Politics and the U.S. In the 1950s, the United States Agency, particularly the Asian Filmmaker League, actively intervened in all areas of the Asiatic Cultural and Cultural Industry, providing financial and administrative support for the Asian film industry and supporting intellectuals and anti-cultural producers. At this point, the existence of the Asian Foundation is particularly important. The site staff of the non-governmental organization, founded in 1951, had a clear and consistent vision of free Asia, and they made sure that local Tobtucki filmmakers and film directors were given proper maps from the anti-stationary veterans of Hollywood's banal betainment and foundation. And this encouraged them to fight against the communists.
