A history course for middle school students was a book for middle-aged students, not adults, that could be read without pressure, and it was easier to unburden themselves. High school students can read, but I think the best age is the history-like senior year or middle school.

It's a history course for a necessarily middle-class student who never knows what happened in the past, and who is simply saying that historians have been willing to judge what happened. This is not a historical book, it's not a history book about historical events or characters. History is a book of history that tells us what it is, how we interpret it, and what it does. I don't think reading this book is the price of history, but I think you'll see what history is all about.
