I looked through absolute beginner books one by one to learn Chinese, and I bought this one because it is the cleanest and explains things the best. I need to study hard!
There weren't many reviews for this book, and bookstores were flooded with new Chinese textbooks, but... this is the one I chose. The content of the textbook and appendices is substantial, and since language learning requires understanding the culture, I liked the general introduction to China.
I think this is the perfect book for adult beginners to study with. First of all, the book's contents are excellent; it includes the main book, a multi-CD, a mini-book, and a writing notebook. It covers everything from pronunciation to simple conversation, along with meticulous grammar explanations and practice exercises. Furthermore, each lesson even includes explanations of Chinese culture, making it truly feel like an all-in-one resource. Another innovative feature is the conversation
I went to a bookstore to try learning Chinese on my own, but since there are so many Chinese textbooks these days, I was browsing through a bunch. Since Darakwon is famous for language textbooks, and this book seemed to be the latest release, I decided to give it a try. The conclusion is, I think I made a good purchase! I thought all conversation books would be pretty much the same, but... first of all, I liked that it wasn't boring when I first looked at it. I liked that there were lots of
Super fun! Highly recommended! It's a huge help for taking my first steps in Chinese~ The easy explanations and user-friendly layout make studying much easier.
I am a late bloomer challenging myself to learn Chinese!!! At first, I tried studying with a book that consisted entirely of simple sentences and vocabulary, but even after finishing the entire book, I couldn't have a conversation at all. Saying greetings was about all I could manage. Then, I started studying with "Please Teach Me Special Chinese." The conversation styles for different situations were well organized, and the grammar and vocabulary explanations were kindly presented with cute
As a Chinese teacher, I find the structure and content to be very substantial. Perhaps because it was compiled jointly by a Korean and a Chinese author, the dialogue feels natural and not awkward. The Chinese culture columns at the end of each lesson are also quite interesting. I recommend this to anyone starting to learn Chinese or looking for a new textbook.
