Description

The author, who resonated with middle-aged readers whose bodies and minds felt disconnected through *I Turned Fifty: Knowing a Little, Knowing Just Enough*, now discusses how to prepare for a second life after fifty. Fifty is an age where one can discover new possibilities in the midst of the centenarian era, and a time of opportunity to break free from social prejudices and the gaze of others to live solely as oneself. As readers answer the sincere questions contained in this book that lift the self from the bottom of priorities, they will be able to begin such a wonderful life after fifty alongside their "true selves."

If Fifty Were This Wonderful. Isn't that a bit too childish a title? Drawn in by this silly title, I opened the book. Recently, I had been going through a rather difficult time emotionally, reflecting on myself as someone who didn't belong anywhere, and looking back at the people around me who did. The author also wrote that after retirement, when the sense of belonging vanished, it felt as though my very existence was disappearing. As I read through these deeply relatable passages, I realized

As someone who turned 50, I found it comfortable to read and there were many parts I could relate to. After finishing it, I set it aside to give to a friend.

It is a book well worth reading even if you are not 50. It feels like listening to the story of a life mentor.

While it is undeniable that the number of people facing retirement in their prime working years has increased due to COVID-19, reading this book makes me reflect

Fifty is an age where one can discover new possibilities in the midst of the centenarian era, and it is a time of opportunity to break free from social prejudices and the gaze of others to live solely as oneself. I think about "myself" again. The me who became "nothing" when I thought I would become "something special." And once again, I dream of becoming "something special." And I think about my "usefulness." The thought that I

I deeply resonated with author Lee Ju-hee's previous work, *I Turned Fifty Knowing Little and Not Much*, and I have purchased and am reading her new book, *If It Were This Wonderful Fifty*. Every day in life is precious. However, we carelessly forget and pass by, living without meaning; only much later do we realize the regrets of what we carelessly let slip away, leading to a time of regret. *If It Were This Wonderful Fifty* is a book that makes me look back on myself and guides me to taste

It’s not really a genre I like, but I bought it simply because I just turned fifty. ^^ It’s worth reading at least once.
