I run a piano academy in Incheon and was looking for a better book when I tried this one—amazing! More than 30 students are using it. It has so many easy, fun pieces at the beginning that students can start the children's song collection after only two weeks of piano lessons. The students are excited about piano because of this book and even carry it home to practice; some have bought extra copies. In decades of running an academy, I've never seen anything like it. Lee Ha-eun et al.: Animal Farm Piano Children's Song Collection 1
Animal Farm Piano Children's Song Miniatures, Book 1 is a collection of children's songs for students who are beginning to play with both hands at the level of Beyer Book 1. It includes familiar children's songs as well as many lively, interesting new songs suited to today's era. Since children are starting piano at younger ages these days, the book recommends beginning with both hands in treble clef at the foundational level, including when using Beyer. This book also starts both hands in treble clef, greatly reducing the burden of reading music for children. Pretty animal photographs appear on every page, making piano practice a happy experience. Every song has lyrics in both Korean and English. The songs were selected over several years of trying them out with children, and fantastical illustrations and speech bubbles are included to encourage creativity and imagination. We hope this book will give children a good start in music. All songs are used with permission from the Korea Music Copyright Association.
