Lee Byeong-jun: Sharing Economy Platforms and Consumer Protection
I think that our shared economy is not working properly, and we're also seeing a difference in the fact that there is no proper perception and research about the shared economy. This study started with this problem, and it worked with many young researchers. The Consumer Law Center at the University of Foreign Language in Korea conducted many seminars and studies under these conditions, partly by taking part in the research of the country. This is the result of this research. The first president, "The Common Economy and Legal Discipline," analyzed the difference between the shared economy's basic characteristics and consumer laws for existing businesses and consumers. And it was one of the main problems of getting the exact meaning of the shared economy, the person, and then putting that position under legal regulation. And we're thinking about the legal basis of what side effects are going to be through the shared economy and what the legislation challenge is to replace it. The second chapter, “Spangled Share Economy and Consumer Protection," looked at individual problems with the shared economy in a variety of areas. We've individually looked at the area of the exchange, the private trade, the living room, the ride, the space sharing and the labor sharing. The various shared economic platforms in different areas and the legal problems that arise from unique regulations have their own characteristics. I think you can see how colorful the shared economy is.
