Lazia Sultanova: From Shamanism to Sufism

This book is a research work by a native scholar shedding light on the religion and culture of women in Central Asian societies, which have previously been little known to the outside world or have often been distorted. Through over 25 years of fieldwork, the author provides a detailed account of the everyday rituals and the inheritance and practice of traditional arts among Muslim women that have remained hidden from view.
