Kwon Hyuk-kwan: Reading History Books Accurately

Through original text analysis, the author has restored the original meanings of passages within the Old Testament historical books that were taken for granted, as well as the placement of texts that raised questions like, "Why here in this place?" This book consists of 15 essays. These essays break away from familiar, clichéd conclusions and awaken readers through twists, inspiration, and challenges. The power of logic and persuasion is remarkable, and the writing style is vibrant. The author ceaselessly poses questions that readers may have pondered at some point, drawing them into the text. The limitations of existing translations have been overcome through original text analysis. The text has been calibrated for interpretation within the theological framework intended by each historical book of the Old Testament. Readers can clearly focus on the target of the text's meaning and arrive at it accurately. For example, regarding the incident of Uzzah, who died for touching the Ark of the Covenant, the author argues that attention should be paid to David, not Uzzah. Furthermore, the author points out the problem with the Korean Bible, which translates God's appearance in Solomon's dream as if it were due to Solomon, and offers a solution. It also includes questions that might make one wonder why God had ravens deliver food to the prophet Elijah. By rescuing Huldah from being branded a false prophet and comparing the life of Uzziah to that of Manasseh, the author challenges readers to reflect on their entire lives.
