Korean Society for Modern English and American Novel Studies: Modern Travel, Adventure, and Narrative
In travel history, especially in modern times, the traveler's gaze would have to reflect the uniqueness of the culture of racial and ethnic domination. Like the male traveler's trip to map-making, women's travelers also reveal the colonial writing of male discourses. White women are considered to be the ones who should be protected in modern times by white men's eyes or discourses, but she also has to look at non-Westerns in her status as a colonialist. This is shown by the fact that the writing of travel is associated with naming and recording new discoveries, and this is the beginning of colonialism. Now in a time of travel and travel, such views are meaningless. In these times, travel epics will be narrowly focused on personal stories, and wide areas that will expand into virtual travel of the future we see, while in combination with the climate and environmental problems we face, the refugee and the migration issues, they will be exposed to a dynamic field of genre.
