Description

Let Us Begin a New Future for the Korean Peninsula with Accounting Unification. Now that we have entered the 21st century, following the division of South and North Korea in the 20th century, the two Koreas are seeking to leap forward into a new relationship based on economic cooperation. The time has come to prepare for an era of a peace economy through inter-Korean cooperation, moving beyond an era of peace without war. Accounting is the most fundamental field of economic activity and must serve as a fair standard in economic cooperation between South and North Korea. However, the importance of accounting has not been recognized in inter-Korean economic cooperation to date. Now, as the scope of economic exchange expands under the new relationship between the two Koreas and the Korean Peninsula moves closer to becoming a "single market," the importance of accounting is bound to grow. This book aims to foster an understanding of the North Korean economy through accounting to prepare for full-scale economic cooperation with the North in the future. It first covers the current status of North Korean accounting, which is unfamiliar to us, as well as comparative cases of inter-Korean accounting, the Kaesong Industrial Complex, and examples of accounting system development in transition countries such as Vietnam and China. Furthermore, it presents concrete directions for implementing inter-Korean accounting cooperation plans. Inter-Korean economic cooperation is a valuable opportunity to overcome the crisis of low growth facing our economy and further solidify peace on the Korean Peninsula. By looking ahead to the future of the Korean Peninsula and providing the wisdom to prepare in advance for "reunification through accounting," this book will serve as an excellent compass for those preparing for future changes on the peninsula.

There are hardly any books covering accounting knowledge related to inter-Korean economic cooperation. Although it is a bit difficult for a non-expert like me to read, the content is interesting!
