Korea Communications Commission: Broadcasting Market Competition Assessment (2017)
The need for objective analysis and evaluation of the competition in the broadcast market is being raised to provide reasonable regulation and competitive policies to deal with market and legal environmental changes in the media industry. The report suggests that the current consideration of the changing market environment should be used to reasonably shape the target market and to implement competition analysis and evaluations of the broadcast market with a variety of and subdivisional competitive evaluations. In the year '20, competitions were improved, including most evaluation market focus reductions over the previous year and the post-reported increase in the use of media services due to the activity of the network workers' inter-communicators' quality and facilities investment competition. Rival and IPTC are beginning to be activated as new channel and channel entry are intangible, and are being analyzed to increase the quality of the broadcasts and content, and thus increase the service costs, and increase the choice of broadcasters and advertisers. The competition between the broadcasts has been growing, with the rise of the network's focus on the market, and the rise in the digital conversion of the UNAC to deal with competition pressures from businesses in IPT. The change in the environment of the groundwaves' central network is under way, depending on the steady growth of non-earthwave broadcasters. While the groundwave networker still holds the position of key content providers, the amount of viewing, sales and production costs shows that their influence in the entire network market is decreasing.
