Kim Won-ik: Myth, Answering the World

Myths are like reservoirs where every story of life is weakened. But not all stories are in a hurry. The stories are only chosen to be the war criminals of human affairs. As water from the reservoirs feeds the rice fields, mythology enriches our lives. Because in mythology there is a secret solution to the fundamental problem of life. So Campbell says,. “Myths teach me how to act in times of despair, in moments of joy, in times when I fail or succeed. Myths teach me where I am now. The book is looking at the human story through 19 mortifs and the Greek mythology that move our minds. A literary word, a Mortif, is the universal minimum that is the most basic unit of narrative. Goethe says that Mortif has been "repeated until now, and is a repeatable mental phenomenon, and poets are merely historical proof of it. So, the Mortif is a circle and an integer of the story.
