However, even after enduring the Japanese colonial period and the crisis of the Korean War, *Gyeokam Yurok*—a new form of prophetic text—began to be widely discussed from the late 1970s to the early 1980s as a means of actively responding to the chaotic state of rapidly changing global affairs, the development of new political systems, drastic shifts in economic conditions, changes in social order, and alterations in the natural ecosystem. Often, prophecies appear in a form revered as sacred, consisting of difficult character deciphering or mystical terminology, thus denying access to the general public. Ultimately, prophecies always remain "open" to various interpretations. A loophole is always bound to be prepared. Nevertheless, it is undeniable that prophecies are documents capable of "analysis." This book is written from this perspective. Prophecy is a kind of belief system existing in the realm of mysterious "faith." Therefore, to those who believe in it, it is "truth," while to those who do not, it is merely a "lie" unrelated to them, existing outside the realm of judgment. Therefore, clinging excessively to prophecy is foolish, and merely disregarding it is not desirable either. This is why a more objective understanding of prophecy and prophetic books is necessary. I hope this book will be of at least some help in raising the general public's perception of prophecy.
