We have always naturally enjoyed popular culture in Japan, in movies and magazines. But there was a time when Japanese pop culture was banned from our society. It is this ‘ popular culture ’ problem that has been overlooked in many complex trades. The book deals with the ‘No Japanese Popular Culture ’ phenomenon, which ran from 1945, after liberation, to 2004, when the fourth issue began. The term ‘No Japanese Popular Culture ’ means that the Japanese pop culture has been set up and banned from being introduced. This ban is a major issue, not just over whether we enjoy Japanese culture, but also over the oppression and desire of Korean society around the Japanese bats and the cultural relations between South Korea and Japan after liberation. The book reviews and examines the ban on Japanese popular culture in this context, and then looks at the structurally critical way in which the ban has finally been dissolved and reached to this day, and what cultural relations have been doing in this regard.
