This book consists of a total of six chapters. Chapter 1 examines the perspectives of the older generation regarding youth. Chapter 2 analyzes the economic structure that has led to current youth issues. While neoliberalism and economic inequality are issues affecting all age groups, they have had a profound impact on the work and lives of the youth in particular. This book covers the process of change from the period before and after the 1997 IMF economic crisis to the present. Chapter 3 analyzes the social structure that has caused current youth problems. In particular, it examines how the structure of social roles based on age has shaped our society and how this has influenced current youth issues. Chapter 4 analyzes the educational structure that has led to current youth problems. It explores how Korea's education system has changed while maintaining the characteristic of entrance exam competition, and how these changes have affected the lives of young people. Chapter 5 analyzes the political structure that has caused current youth problems. This chapter addresses the issues faced by the youth living exposed to contradictory situations. Finally, Chapter 6 presents what is needed for young people to become the agents of agenda-setting regarding their own issues.
