After reading Counseling Navigation for Beginners, I bought the workbook too. That book was unexpectedly good all the way through, and the workbook has lots of transcripts, which are helpful and a great help with studying counseling. I also watch the videos on YouTube often.

Counselors have a common concern: “What makes a good question?” Asking good questions is very important in counseling sessions with clients. That is why both beginning counselors and counselors with many years of experience think about how to ask their clients good questions. Becoming a counselor who asks good questions requires ongoing training. Among the training methods, practice using a verbatim transcript—a written record of the conversation between counselor and client—is especially effective. A transcript shows how the counselor intervenes at each point, helping beginning counselors understand the flow and context of the full session. The Workbook for Counseling Navigation was therefore designed around clinical exercises and practice using transcripts, both essential forms of training for counselors.
