Kim Gap-jin: Practical Ziwei Doushu (Theory)
Zi Wei Dou Shu is a discipline said to have been created by Chen Tuan, known as Master Xiyi, in the early Song dynasty. It is remarkably accurate in predicting people's future fortunes, yet its interpretations and methods of reading charts are difficult, and constructing a chart is complicated, making it hard to approach and study. The author therefore delved deeply into various old Chinese texts, gathering, organizing, and analyzing the theories that seemed relatively accurate in practical application. The book was written with the modest hope of helping later students in even a small way and contributing to the development of Korean fortune-telling studies. The author has spent more than forty years with the Five Arts of the East, yet has nothing tangible to show and nothing to lay out. Never having clung to the pursuit of a fleeting reputation, the author looks back and sees only a cold wind sweeping through an empty place. —From the preface
