Kim Chi-soo: The voice of literature

*The Voice of Literature* is a collection of literary criticism by Kim Chi-soo, who retired in late February 2006 after 35 years of teaching, including 27 years as a professor in the Department of French Literature at Ewha Womans University. It holds both personal significance in summarizing the author's 40-year literary career, which began with his winning the criticism category of the first JoongAng Ilbo New Spring Literary Contest in January 1966, and literary historical significance in tracing the footsteps of the literary generation commonly referred to in the literary world as the 4·19 Generation.
