Japanese literature and films are one of the leading works of modern Japanese literature, especially those that are produced in their originals, so that they can be chosen to share the original novel and film with the film in a way that holds its place as important as the movie. The goal is to enhance understanding of each work, and, second, to acquire knowledge of the leading Japanese novelists and movie directors, and third, to understand the difference and character of the same story as it is expressed in different media. It is not strange for us to see a story as it first appeared in the world, whether it was fiction, cartoon, movie, drama, or other media. Nevertheless, we often associate a story with a particular medium. But one story does not have a fixed relationship with a particular medium. So this textbook centered the story rather than the category of fiction and movies. When one story is transformed into another medium over time, it is a key point in this textbook to compare and appreciate the similarities and what else can be learned from it.
