Honestly, this isn't the most readable translation. But it's easier to understand than any translation published so far.
I've been waiting to see when this translation would come out. Even though I've followed the book through translations by several earlier scholars, this is one translation I've strangely found myself waiting for. I hope the project continues through to the end.
Karl Marx: Capital: A Critique of Economics 2-2
This is a translation of Volume 2 of Karl Marx's Capital, published in three separate volumes. The translation is based on Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels, Werke (MEW), volume 24 (Dietz Verlag, Berlin, 1973), edited by the Institute of Marxism-Leninism attached to the Central Committee of the Socialist Unity Party of Germany (SED), formerly East Germany. It also consulted the English edition (MECW, volume 35, Progress Publishers, 1956); Japanese editions, including the Marx-Engels Complete Works Editorial Committee translation published by Otsuki Shoten, Itsuro Sakisaka's translation published in Iwanami Bunko, and the Capital Translation Committee translation published by Shin Nihon Shuppansha; translations by Choi Yeong-cheol, Jeon Seok-dam, and Heo Dong; Kim Su-haeng's translation; and the edition from the Workers' Party of Korea Publishing House, published by Baekui Publishing. Notes in the MEW edition are given as footnotes on the relevant pages, while the MEW editors' endnotes and commentary appear as bracketed endnotes. Translator's notes and similar material are numbered with asterisks, such as *1 and *2, and placed on the relevant pages. Numbers in the left and right margins of the text, as well as numbers in parentheses at the end of each endnote, indicate MEW page numbers. Languages other than German in the MEW edition are generally shown alongside the original. Italicized emphasis is underlined, and bold emphasis is marked with both underlining and bold type. Spelling does not always follow Korean orthography, especially the initial-sound rule, or foreign-word transcription rules, especially those concerning tense consonants.
