John Webster: Duchess of Malfi

In Amalfi, Italy, a young woman who has broken her family's orders and married her butler secretly and gave birth to a child and then was killed by her brothers. The feed depicted the duke who betrayed family honor as the god of desire. The author of the Jackerbyan era, John Webster, describes the case as a noble tragedy in his concept of the Motifiers. A duke who gives up everything as a human being and chooses to live with someone he loves before being a monarch shows a complete and inconsequential flaw as the hero of the classical tragedy. John Webster's work.
