Jo Mi-sook: Women's literature, women of literature

*Women's Literature and Women in Literature* re-examines the status of women in modern society through female writers and the portrayal of women in literary works, exploring the process by which women, once subjects of oppression, become subjects of literature. The analysis covers everyone from women of the Joseon Dynasty who mastered poetry, calligraphy, and painting—such as Shin Saimdang and Heo Nanseolheon—to the "New Women" of the modern era and female novelists who lead the bestseller market in contemporary society. By examining how the image of women in novels has changed with the times, the book explores the position of women in our society.
