Jo Han-jin et al.: Studying Disability Studies in Korea
In 2022, South Korea was a little bit in love with dolphins, but was enthusiastic about the strange lawyer Young-woo. Although many films and dramas have featured disabled characters, it is unusual to be in the candidates in eight different sectors, including the works of white art since the movie Malaton. Then, the interest in disability increased in Korea and the awareness of people with disabilities changed quickly. For example, in 2019 the term "disability rating" disappeared and was revised to the point of disability. But despite these positive phenomena, there is not enough research to meet the academic needs. In fact, field experts are having difficulty with the lack of proper textbooks while preparing courses for occipitative behavior. Thus, with the need for a deep academic study of disability, nine leading experts from the field of disability wrote a novel book in Korea. Most of all, because the authors of each field have been willing to join them, they can understand the disorder from various perspectives. Part 1 deals with basic theories, such as definitions of disability, and Part 2 has a political, economic and also psychological, cultural and ethical aspect in the context of disability. Especially where the movement and the disabled have been dealt with is where the translation book goes beyond its limits and has a distinction about the history of disability in Korea. In terms of disability, disability is a tragedy in society, not in individuals. It's not autism that has bothered the dear fellow that we have been looking at, but social vision and prejudice.
