Thailand is the land of spices, and as a spice lover I found it hard to read calmly! I read this while deciding between Vietnam and Thailand for my winter holiday, which made it even more engaging. Except for Phuket, all the small towns were new to me, making the information especially valuable. This travel book suited my taste. Honest photos can be more beautiful than heavily edited ones, as satisfying destinations often are. The author's descriptions of places were persuasive.
Thailand has many destinations beyond Bangkok. If you have visited Bangkok and want to explore elsewhere, this guide introduces southern Thailand, centered on Phuket: Patong, Karon, Kata, Nai Harn and Rawai, and Phuket Town. The dry season is November through March; even in the May-to-October rainy season, showers usually come in late afternoon. Phuket offers beautiful beaches, food, fruit, activities, distinctive architecture, and enough to enjoy for a month. The book covers street food
Enjoy the freedom of southern Thailand, with blue seas, endless beaches, great food, and culture. From sunbathing to rainforest adventures, immerse yourself in the region. If you dream of spending a month in Phuket, the section covers monthly expenses, lodging, and local-life tips. It introduces each area's attractions, from Patong nightlife and Phuket Town's historic architecture, murals, markets, and restaurants to Krabi, another southern paradise. The publisher provided this book.
Jo Dae-hyun et al.: Hashtag Southern Thailand (2024)
Southern Thailand has beautiful scenery, and Phuket is its best-known destination, though Krabi and increasingly popular Trang are also there. Emerald seas, breathtaking nature, relaxing stays, and lively nightlife make Phuket a wonderful vacation choice. Its 20–32°C average temperatures, breezes, beaches, night markets, temples, and resorts invite visitors to enjoy a relaxed Andaman coast lifestyle, Thai food, and performances.
