*I Create the Future* is the memoir of Chairman Chung Moon-sool, who founded the semiconductor manufacturing equipment company Mirae Industry in 1983. In January 2001, when Mirae Industry had reached the peak of its success, Chairman Chung suddenly announced his retirement, handing over all management rights to his employees with the single request to "build a good company." He then donated 30 billion won of his assets to KAIST. Chairman Chung’s philosophy regarding donation is that "the talent, capital, and all infrastructure necessary for business activities are nurtured and provided by society," and therefore, "one must give back to society in some way." Furthermore, his foresight in supporting interdisciplinary research that fuses life sciences and technology is reaffirmed in value today, as artificial intelligence has emerged as a hot topic.
