A high school senior's death. And the suspects who killed her: her father, homeroom teacher, closest friend, boyfriend, and boyfriend's mother. The process of uncovering the truth through the statements of these five people is familiar from many other mystery novels. Maybe for that reason, there was nothing especially distinctive about how the culprit was revealed. Just as I was disappointed, thinking it might end like this, Jeong Hae-yeon's specialty appeared: a hidden twist. Or perhaps it was

The Suspects, Jeong Hae-yeon, Wisdom House There was an event for a signed copy of Jeong Hae-yeon's new book The Suspects. The post invited us to guess which suspect seemed most suspicious. I picked Han Su-yeon; let's see if I was right as I enter the book. Yu-jeong missed school for personal reasons, and once police officers came to school, the students openly knew she was missing... but who expected her to be found dead? She had been strangled. Who could have done such a thing? Su-yeon, who

The Suspects review, Jeong Hae-yeon, Wisdom House Han Su-yeon - Min Hye-ok - Hyun Kang-su - Kim Geun-mi - Heo Seung-won - Kim Geun-mi - Hyun Kang-su - Min Hye-ok - Han Su-yeon. Friend, teacher, father, boyfriend's mother, boyfriend... What truths were hidden in the accounts of these five suspects? Hmm... This is a Jeong Hae-yeon novel with a slightly different kind of twist from the huge, shocking reversals she is known for. There were, of course, twists I had not anticipated. But they could

High school senior Hyun Yu-jeong disappeared a few days ago and was found strangled in an abandoned building at a failed townhouse construction site on the outskirts of the area. Her close friend from school, Han Su-yeon, heard the news on TV. Yu-jeong's death has not sunk in yet; Su-yeon just feels numb. Yu-jeong's locker was found with its lock broken the day after she went missing, but no one knows who did it. Their homeroom teacher calls Su-yeon to the faculty office and tells her to visit

The book's sentences are very easy to read, and above all, it is fun. True to its title, The Suspects shows the case from different angles depending on the point of view, helping readers piece together their theories. Its appeal lasts to the end because the tension does not let up even after the case is solved, and the evil, greed, and carelessness of people are frightening.

“If the culprit is caught, is the problem solved?” At last, the final published edition is here. It would be terribly sad no matter which of the suspects turned out to be the real culprit. Could they all be involved? It hurts, but Jeong Hae-yeon's new novel needs no lengthy explanation to make you want to read to the end and meet the culprit. … “Can you be sure you won't push yourself to be good to me? Don't try, don't make an effort, don't be unhappy, and don't struggle just to be good to me.”

Fortunately, I took part in the preview event for The Suspects' advance copy and was selected as an outstanding reviewer, so I received the actual book. As soon as it arrived, I devoured the rest of the story, which had ended so meaningfully in the advance copy. Now I want to savor its lingering effect as I write this review. The Suspects is Jeong Hae-yeon's new thriller, unraveling the mystery surrounding the tragic death of high school senior Hyun Yu-jeong. Five suspects emerge as her death
