A book presenting specific practical measures and directions for character education
Jeong Chang-woo et al.: Teachers Think About Character Education
[Teachers, Thinking About Character Education] was developed to facilitate the implementation of teacher training that harmonizes specific examples, lectures (theory) and reading materials, activities and practice, and discussions and debates, based on the new paradigm of "reflective teacher training" and the principle that professional expertise can be enhanced when teachers engage in reflective review of their own experiences with intrinsic or voluntary motivation. This textbook consists of 15 sessions across 4 domains and 15 topics. The four domains are "Teachers' Educational Philosophy and Beliefs," "Guidance and Evaluation Methods for Promoting Character Development," "Methods of Teacher-Student and Student-to-Student Interaction for Promoting Character Development," and "Teachers' Own Character Cultivation and Responsibility." The structure of the textbook is organized in the following order: domain and topic titles, elements of teacher professionalism, opening thoughts, broadening thoughts, unfolding thoughts, sharing thoughts, from thought to practice, and reference materials.
