I long for spring, when trees and flowers that had turned entirely grayish-brown, silent and bare as they shed the winter and huddled together, burst forth in a multitude of colors and radiate light, much like a choir bursting forth in harmony. Watching the growth of the forest is wondrous. The trees of May, the boundary between spring and summer, are the most leisurely and dazzlingly beautiful of the year. Walking through a beautiful forest where the brilliant growth of leaves alone is enough,
I tend to enjoy going to the mountains. I like taking a quick 3-4 hour hike up the hill behind my neighborhood (actually, I find it a hassle when my mom suggests going on Sundays, my only day off a week. Though I do like mountains themselves...), but I prefer taking a day or two off to hike a bigger mountain. There are times in life when I feel that living is truly hard. There are times when I feel so exhausted and worn out that I just want to give up. At those times, I long for the mountains.
