Im Seong-ju: Nokmunjip 2
Volume 2 of *Nokmunjip*. Looking at *Nokmunjip* as a whole, letters account for a significant portion, numbering over 300. While poetry is typically placed at the beginning of a general anthology, the author considered poetry a secondary pursuit and did not devote much effort to it; consequently, the number of works is not large. Therefore, the poems are placed at the end of the anthology, whereas the letters dealing with academic debates, to which the author devoted his heart and soul, are placed at the beginning. A unique feature of this anthology is that, through works such as *Letter to Miho Kim Gong* in Volume 1, one can examine the theories of Li and Qi, mind and nature, and the unity of human nature advocated by Im Seong-ju.
