Heo A-reun: Roulette Writer Heo Ah-reun's Novel Struggle: Theme is Random, Result is Mystery

Seaweed soup. Paper straws. French dolls. Marshmallows. Chalk. Armpits. There is a wheel covered with these seemingly unrelated words, and someone watches it anxiously. Heo Areun, known as a “roulette novelist” who writes stories using words suggested by readers on Threads, is a mysterious figure whose name, gender, age, and place of residence are all unknown. The way this author writes is just as mysterious: readers suggest words, those words go onto a spinning wheel, and the selected ones become stories that have never existed before. A collection of those stories has now been published as The Roulette Novelist Heo Areun’s Writing Struggles: The Theme Is Random, the Result Is a Mystery.
