Description

This study examines the foreign policies of Eurasian countries in relation to the massive regional integration trends brought about by globalization and regionalism. Significant changes are being detected in the composition and distribution of global powers, such as the discussion of a G2 system driven by China's growing presence in the process of responding to the 2008 global financial crisis and the subsequent fiscal crises in European countries. In particular, the focus is placed on the relationship between the EU's eastward expansion and the EEU (Eurasian Economic Union), which Russia is ambitiously leading in the post-Soviet space in response. The research objective of this book is to re-examine the nature and core contents of existing foreign policy lines of Eurasian countries that are choosing new development models in an environment where key external influencing variables—such as the integration competition between the EU and the EEU surrounding the post-Soviet space—are changing, and to review and forecast the future direction of foreign policy development based on these changes in influencing variables.
