Han Ki-chae: The 7 Sins of the Korean Church
It is the foundation of change for the Korean Church to face up to its shame. Now it is my turn to live in the church before Seven Sins in Korea. Kim Jong-suk, Kim-sun, Lee-ho, Lee Geun, Immsuk-soon, Seok-soo, Li-Suk, Liang-sung, Han Gi-chong, a highly recommended Christian ethicist and a trusted pastor with a profound insight into faith and life, has taken to the Seven Sins which the Korean Church must repent in order to move from the shrine to a healthy church. The author says that through this book I have to face the shame of the Korean church and live in it and repent first. Then what is the reason why he counts the Korean Church as seven sins to repent of? Seven sins, also called ‘ seven transgressions ’ in the Catholic Church, are sins that cause all sins. The author saw seven crimes that are thus at the root of sin within the Korean Church, and he was dealing with seven sins that cause many conflicts and problems around the Korean church. The seven sins that are examined in this book are not strange sins, but things we often experience in the church. Seven sins are spiritual abuse, ‘ the cause of justice, ’ ‘ the judicialization of faith, ’ “the cassia and the nethrom,” ‘ the official desindrom, ’ the gentleman Sindrome, and the ‘ rude Christian. ’. The author, through specific Scriptural teachings on this subject, shows how these seven sins are misleading the Gospel.
