Han Jong-su et al.: Principle-Based Accounting: You Must Face Challenges to Shine
Since our country introduced international accounting standards at the center of principle, we've been working on accounting, accounting, business and directors, accounting societies, all kinds of people in the accounting sector. Korea's accounting system is now more than any other country, and is being appreciated for its effort to apply principle-based accounting standards. Nevertheless, our assessment of accounting transparency is still very low in some overseas evaluation institutions, which is sad to say. The Korean Institute of Accounting has been trying to figure out how to implement principle-based accounting in our economy effectively. And by sharing the results with more people, we've been able to create a collection of social wisdom to make our corporate accounting more transparent. The researchers in this library have done extensive literature reviews, surveys of the use of accounting information in the country and abroad, and legal reviews and consultations of experts in the domestic and foreign institutions to provide us with effective solutions to the right principle-based accounting standards. And we looked at the experience of applying accounting standards, which is based on principles in Britain and Germany, as examples overseas. Now, I hope that through the publication of the main-sale effort, this material can be shared socially to many people, so that all sector members, especially corporations and investors, can contribute to achieving higher accounting transparency.
