Han Chi-ho: Memorial Service
Since memorialism means to think of dead people as being drawn, everyone agrees that it is natural for dead families and descendants to honor their ancestors. But the Bible doesn't teach us how to celebrate parents or ancestors. The Bible shows that the morality of human relations is limited to the fact that people are alive. For us, the principle is to be effective in the parents' survival, as the Bible counsels. But the death of parents doesn't break up relationships with their children. So after the parents die, it's not a mistake to have a memorial moment to remember and appreciate God's blessing on your offspring during their time with them. We must remember our ancestors, that their offspring should be gathered together to worship God and to remind of the will and virtue of him called by God, while seeking reconciliation among themselves and exhorting faith. And we need to go out and comfort the hearts of the unbelievers in our families and pray that our hearts be open and that we can receive our prayers with grace. The difference between traditional sacrifices and church memorials is the ceremony of the deceased, the memorial service is the worship of God in honor of the ancient. -- -- and among the general perceptions about memorial services --.
