Graham Harman: Bruno Latour
The experiment is an oral commentary on the evolution of political philosophy by Bruno Latour, a sociologist and anthropologist who has become a superstar in social sciences, who is the founder of the personal reality and object-to-immigration theory. According to the book, modern political philosophy has focused on analyzing power relations between citizens and the nation states, assuming that politics belongs entirely to the realm of human actors. The politics of modernism has been shaken between the idea of truth, which should be based on images of truth in conflict with ignorance, and the notion of power itself, without any underlying truth. The common denominator of these two political ideas is that they omit objects. In the 21st century, the political ideology of Gisla and body-to-side truth has replaced the political notion of identity politics or sociological liberalism in the 1990s. Graham Harmon broke with the tradition of focusing on Latour's social theories and began instead on the early Hobbusian base of Latter. Harmon, in addition to his interest in object-sensor politics, which Latour has been inspired by Walter Lefman/John Duy more recently, also takes a look at Latter's intellectual engagement with Carl Schmidt.
