I have already read several of this author's books. I particularly enjoyed *For Justice*, but this more recent work does an excellent job of telling the story of our society in a way that is relevant to the times. I hope everyone, regardless of age or gender, reads it.
Gangnamsun: Man wearing manicure
“If you were to encounter a man with nail polish on his fingernails at school, on the subway, or on the street, how would you react? Wouldn’t you naturally assume he is a sexual minority? Is that the right way to think?” The title of this book stems from such a critical awareness. However, it is not a book that simply represents sexual minorities. “Manicure Man” is a symbol of an act that nullifies oppressive solemnity and hierarchy through the small gesture of nail polish, and naturally overturns violent gender stereotypes. Author Kang Nam-soon argues that the future we must create after the Candlelight Revolution is a true democratic society where the freedom, equality, and justice of “all” humans are realized, transcending various forms of discrimination and exclusion based on gender, age, sexual orientation, disability, wealth, religion, and race.
