Description

As Turiel himself reveals, the book aims to provide a empirical basis for the theoretical statements it claims. So the first part of the book describes basic theoretical concepts and advocates clinical methods as a major research tool. Chapters 3 and 4 review the study of social experience and relationship between two areas, and what children have done to each of them in moral and social judgments. Five chapters deal with the concept of child rules. Six chapters deal with the development of social accidents. Chapter 7 reviews Piaget's research on moral development and Coleberg's work. Chapter 8 suggests the inadequacies of the non-intelligible intellectual explanation of moral development. In the last part of the story, there is no strong connection between moral judgment and behavior. This book is an early work of Turiel, and so a lot of criticism can be raised on the basis of theory and empirical evidence, but it can be assessed as being useful to prospective teachers and researchers who are still interested in the development of moral and social awareness through the social experience of children and adolescents.

It's not about obedience to authority, but it's like a academic report on how consideration and justice for others can be born.
