Dong-eui University East Asian Research Institute: 70th Anniversary of the End of World War II, 50th Anniversary of Diplomatic Relations between Korea and Japan

The 70th anniversary of the postwar year, the 50th anniversary, is an attempt to re-wind the war and the tide of East Asia since its modern day and look back on the mutual awareness of the East Asian countries and what is left of our task. We need to be able to present a new paradigm for the perpetrators and victims through the memory and mutual awareness of war in East Asia. And we need to build new narrative terrain to create a rational discourse community beyond ethnic feelings and override. We need to reaffirm at the present point the war memory and mutual awareness of East Asia, and try again to build a qualitative chapter for the future of East Asians with a large-scale eye.
