The book was compiled to honor the retirement of Dr. Kwon-leeil. The teacher always emphasized the importance of linguistics research to evaluate the results of previous studies and to guide new research on them. This led to the publication of a regular anniversary paper, which was an uncontentiously new trend in Korean research during the project. Each paper is a free statement of researchal progress, methodology and later the direction of research in the field that the writer has studied or is trying to study. The 21st articles thus compiled were classified as a stream of six fields of research: grammar, meaning, text or conversation, literature and dialects, linguistics, language policy and language education. The end of the book has been classified as based on the books, papers, scholarly papers, and articles of Korean grammar, Korean grammars, linguistics, general linguistics and applied language, and so forth.
