The book is authored by Dr. Christoia Welland, a domestic violence expert recognized by the U.S. Department of State. Dr. Welland has accumulated extensive practical experience while working internationally for 40 years. The program she developed, called Sin Golpes, is currently used in the United States and South America for the treatment of criminals. He has focused on researching those facing domestic violence and devising practical ways to help them. In conjunction with the World Family Conference and the Synod on the Family held in 2015, Dr. Welland authored *A Guide to Preventing Domestic Violence for Catholics* for those suffering from domestic violence or those wishing to help.
